European Grapevine Moth

In 2011 Lake County was removed from the European Grapevine Moth quarantine. However, due to our proximity to counties previously infested with the moth, the Lake County Department of Agriculture continues to work toward preventing this pest from becoming established in our county.

The European Grapevine Moth (EGVM), Lobesia botrana, is a serious pest of grapes, causing significant damage to the flowers and berries of grapevines. It will also occasionally feed on the flowers and/or fruit of other crops, but populations are not known to rise to damaging levels on these plants.
