Volunteer

Download and print a Volunteer Application (PDF) and then bring it to the nearest branch of the Lake County Library to apply.

Volunteers help the library in a variety of ways and are an integral part of providing quality library service to the public. As a volunteer, you will gain skills and knowledge that can help you in your career or your personal life. Students and others can gain community service credit while helping connect the community to books and learning.

Anyone 14 years old or older can volunteer at the library. We have many different tasks and welcome volunteers with a variety of different skills, interests, and abilities. All volunteers will need to pass a background check, paid for by the library.

Here are a few examples of volunteer opportunities:

Library Aide

Search the library for inventory lists of library materials to be pulled, help return materials to library shelves, or help sort incoming deliveries or donations.

Computer Tutor

Assist patrons in a one-on-one setting on the use of computers and other technology.

Library Storytime Aide

Assist in the preparation and demonstration of Storytime Programming.

Adult Literacy Tutor

Literacy Tutors help adults learn to read.
